Scheduled from May 11th to 16th, 2025, the bootcamp will be held daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the Federal University Wukari ICT Centre.
This initiative is part of the Ministry's ongoing commitment to fostering digital literacy among the youth, preparing them for the opportunities of the digital age. The bootcamp will focus on WordPress, providing participants with hands-on experience in website development and content management.
Training sessions will be led by experienced software engineers affiliated with the Ministry, ensuring that participants receive quality instruction and mentorship. The curriculum is designed to be interactive and engaging, encouraging creativity and critical thinking.
In a statement, Hon. Gideon Samuel Nonso, Commissioner for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation, emphasized the importance of early digital education:
“By equipping our young people with foundational skills in coding, digital design, and basic electronics, we are investing in Taraba’s future innovators. This bootcamp is about sparking creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving from an early age.”
Echoing this sentiment, Governor Agbu Kefas highlighted the state's commitment to embracing digital transformation:
“We are now in a digital era, and we must embrace digitization as a state. Our administration believes the digital economy is the cornerstone of 21st-century growth. Training our youth today ensures that Taraba will not only participate in the digital revolution but lead it.”
